The ultimate is underwhelming outside some convoluted synergy, but his power lies in his +s (both of them). The first boosts outlast and heroic, and turns a few weenies (or even just one) into a real threat. The second is, as mentioned, pure card advantage, and you get to filter for the cards you need rather than simply take what you're given.
